OPEN SCHEDULING INFORMATION
REVISED MONDAY SEPT 22
Open Teams -- all -- Seeding
Open Div I Saturday Schedule t/b/a – pool play w/ some byes tossed in
Div II should work out pretty well. I don’t have the Sat Schedule set up, but after Saturday’s play, the bottom 16 teams play it out in two brackets of 8 teams each. 2 Sunday games are scheduled for each team on Sunday, with a maximum of 4 games on Sunday.
Open Div II Saturday Schedule (likely something designed to give teams 4 or 5 games). Div II teams will be ranked then blended in with bottom-placing Div I teams in a single Sunday Div II Crossover round. Losers of the crossover round advance to the Div II-B Quarterfinals (21st through 28th place in the section overall). Winners of the crossover round advances to the Div-II-A Quarter Finals (13th through 20th place in the section overall). Since each team advances from the Div-II Crossover, each team is guaranteed 2 games on Sunday. Win a Quarters to advance to a SemiFinal, win that and you’re in one of two Div-II Finals games.
Your OPEN SC is BRIAN CANNIFF.
Captain's meeting Sat.: 8:15 a.m. ß NOT as previously posted!
First round Sat: 9:00 a.m. sharp ß NOT as previously posted!

Preliminary OPEN seedings are listed and
subject to change.
First round starts at 9:30 a.m. sharp on
Saturday. Fifth round is capped at 6:00
p.m.
Pools of 5 teams play to 15 (win by 2, 17
hard cap); pools of 6 teams play to 13 (win by 2, 15 hard cap). Sunday teams play to Sunday's schedule. Each team has 2 time outs per half: each
time-out lasts up to seventy (70) seconds.
VARIATION FROM THE 10th EDITION
RULES (2): HALF-TIME LASTS UP TO FIVE (5) MINUTES.
VARIATION FROM THE 10th EDITION
RULES (1): We will be
playing a "+1 cap" this weekend.
The cap goes into effect AFTER the current point being played. If between points, the cap goes on
IMMEDIATELY. The games is then played
to a hard cap of X+1 with X equalling the score of the leading team (If teams
are tied, next point wins). Captains
cannot waive this - we need to move games along to fit in all the rounds. ONCE THE CAP HORN IS BLOWN, EACH TEAM HAS
NO TIME OUTS.
In 2000, one team was very late
to the first round. They were assessed
3 points by the TD (Brian). DO NOT BE
late to the Sunday games to go. It’s
important to move them along b/c we need to run as late as 6 p.m. for teams
5-13.
