    About the Sunday-only divisions.
RTS 7 Sunday was a rousing success. Teams showed up on time, played all their games, and had a great time. Let's do it again.
Sunday will be run as a real one-day tourney. 9:00 captain's meeting; 9:30 am sharp first round start; point assessment and forfeiture of deposit for teams that are late to their first round.

Payment: checks trump promises to pay. This tourney will likely fill,
so kindly get your checks in ASAP. I'll have a list of registered teams
up as checks roll in. Check due date: 10/5. My bet: the
tourney fills WAAAAAAAAAAY before then.
RAIN OR SHINE WE PLAY. However, if there has been substantial rain, then the tournament may be cancelled. In the event the tourney is cancelled, team contacts would receive a partial refund (minus any expenses already incurred by the tourney director(s)).
NO ULTIMATE TIME. There will be no ultimate time at the
tournament. We will run according to the published schedule,
with such variance at the TDs see fit.
9:00 a.m. CAPTAIN'S MEETING
9:30 a.m. FIRST ROUND STARTS
11:30 a.m. FIRST ROUND ENDS
5:30 p.m. FIFTH ROUND STARTS
6:20 p.m. FIFTH ROUND ENDS (it gets dark very early)
There will be an end of round signal, discussed at the captain's meeting. It will likely be a LAST POINT HORN, meaning finish the point being played. If that point results in a TIE, the goal counts twice. This is the RTS Evil COMEBACK rule (the default). Captains may set aside the COMEBACK portion of the rule and play one more point if the last one resulted in a tie. NO TRADITIONAL CAPS! Many games, many rounds, teams awaiting fields, travel teams needing to get on the road. Remember the end of the round while you're resting before starting your game. Plenty of time to rest at home! :)
Time permitting, games are to 13; finals are played to 15.
Two time outs per half.

10 yard brick. Play pull where it lands in endzone; if pull rolls ob then the disc gets put into play at the front of the endzone at the spot closest to where it went ob.

Your team will likely have a FIRST ROUND GAME and a LAST ROUND GAME.
Expect to STAY AND PLAY all scheduled games. *Don't s***w anyone out of a game by leaving
early.*

REC COED: should expect to play at least 5-2 all day. 4-3 if at all possible. Be nice to one another.

COMPETITIVE COED: 4/3 offense chooses gender of 4th player.
This is to model what happens at sectionals and regionals in UPA.
NOTE WELL:
It's really really hard to schedule first round byes in a one
day format. Sorry in advance for that unavoidable problem.

FORMAT: t/b/a (likely 5 rounds of fast-paced ultimate)
For divisions of 5 and 6: round robin
For divisions of 8: pool play and xover game
For divisions of 7: as 8 with 2 xover rounds

On the form below, please indicate your willingness to play in Saturday-only, Sunday-only or both divisions. Because I have diversity issues to manage (e.g. I want to support womens, elite coed, coed club, college club and open club) the division in which you want to play may wind up being a Sunday-only division. NOTE WELL: For RTS 8 *my division* (OPEN) is moved to Sunday for the good of the event.
When you're thinking about being 'marginalized' to Sunday-only play, please remember that the tourney helps raise money for seriously disadvantaged people: those living with AIDS/HIV in some of the poorest minority areas of downtown Philadelphia. Fr. Don and the staff at SILOAM do great work, and they and I remain very grateful for the support we're able to give SILOAM. A bigger tourney can mean a larger donation and that many more people enjoying a day's play.
REFUNDS/CANCELLATION: If the tourney is cancelled, teams will receive partial refunds after the TD has covered his costs. If an individual team cancels or fails to appear, the team will receive a refund at the sole discretion of the TD. Note well that the TD is incentivized to provide some refund in order to make sure that there are enough teams to make all the divisions work. So, if you bail 3 days before the tourney, you are likely to receive a $25 refund. If you bail 2 weeks before the tourney, you are likely to receive a $40 refund. If you bail more than two full weeks before the tourney, you will likely receive a full refund. Sound fair? Good! Remember, your entire division is counting on your team to show up and play all of its games. One price of diversity (e.g. attempting to have a coed division, women's division, let alone *both* at the same event) means that the fields we have are carefully split up between the attending teams. I use my best efforts to make sure all the slots are filled for a good day of play.
